In the USA, as of 2026, the general non-skating public tends to confuse rollerblading with the totality of roller skating, mainly because roller blading has been the more observable skating activity for the past couple of decades. We should look to be on par with rollerblading, if not completely exceeding its popularity, in order to properly educate the public to the different types of roller skates available.
