ABOUT RSAC
The Rhythm Skating Academy & Commission (RSAC) is the mediating and cultural body dedicated to the advancement, preservation, and professionalization of rhythm skating as a sport and as a cultural movement.
RSAC exists to provide structure, standards, and stewardship for rhythm skating—supporting skaters, instructors, DJs, event coordinators, historians, creators, and community leaders who collectively move the culture forward. As both an academy and a commission, RSAC bridges education and governance, honoring the roots of rhythm skating while shaping its future.
OUR PURPOSE
Rhythm skating has long thrived through community, creativity, and self-expression. However, as the culture continues to grow nationally, the need for organization, documentation, and shared standards has become essential.
RSAC was created to serve as that foundation.
Our purpose is to:
-
Protect the integrity and history of rhythm skating
-
Establish clear standards for education, instruction, and evaluation
-
Create sustainable infrastructure for events, training, and recognition
-
Elevate rhythm skating as a respected sport and cultural discipline
RSAC serves as a central hub where culture and structure coexist—ensuring rhythm skating grows without losing its soul.
OUR MISSION
To preserve the legacy, advance the sport, and unify the culture of rhythm skating through education, standards, and community leadership.
OUR VISION
We envision a future where rhythm skating is:
-
Recognized nationally as a legitimate sport
-
Supported by clear standards and professional pathways
-
Documented, archived, and protected for future generations
-
Governed by those who understand, live, and respect the culture
RSAC aims to be the authoritative body that skaters trust, partners respect, and the culture recognizes as its steward.
THE THREE PILLARS OF RSAC
RSAC is built on three foundational pillars that guide all programs and initiatives:
Education & Standards
Developing training frameworks, instructor pathways, certification models, and competition criteria that support excellence and consistency across the culture.
Culture & History
Documenting the origins, regional styles, innovators, and evolution of rhythm skating to ensure the culture is preserved and told accurately.
Events & Regonition
Creating intentional spaces—conferences, summits, showcases, and partnerships—that bring the community together while elevating the sport.
These pillars are embedded into every aspect of RSAC’s work and are symbolically represented in our identity and governance.
THE ACADEMY & THE COMMISSION
RSAC operates through two interconnected bodies:
The Academy
The Academy is RSAC’s general membership body. Academy members represent the broader rhythm skating community and participate in committees, initiatives, and voting on designated organizational matters.
The Commission
The Commission serves as RSAC’s governing leadership. Made up of officers and appointed directors, the Commission provides strategic direction, oversight, and accountability for RSAC’s mission and programs.
Together, the Academy and the Commission ensure RSAC remains both community-driven and structurally sound.
