Pivot
definition
The motion of on a single axel - whether one foot or both, front or back. A pivot can move the skater any variation of degrees, including all the way around. Pivots are used most commonly to transition from one direction to the other or to make a sharp rotation of any degree. Pivots tend to be categorized from level 1-6. Level 1 & 2 are on both legs. Levels 3-6 are on a single leg.
