CODE OF CONDUCT
PURPOSE
The Rhythm Skating Academy & Commission (RSAC) is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment that honors the culture of rhythm skating while supporting its growth and sustainability. This Code of Conduct establishes clear expectations for behavior, accountability, and ethical engagement among all individuals affiliated with RSAC.
This Code applies to all RSAC Officers, Directors, Members-at-Large, Academy members, committee members, volunteers, partners, and representatives acting on behalf of RSAC.
1. CORE PRINCIPLES
All individuals affiliated with RSAC are expected to uphold the following principles:

Respect for Culture: Honor the history, regional styles, and cultural origins of rhythm skating.

Integrity: Act honestly, ethically, and transparently in all RSAC-related activities.

Professionalism: Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects positively on RSAC and the broader rhythm skating community.

Accountability: Take responsibility for actions and decisions that impact RSAC and its members.

Community Care: Contribute to an environment that is safe, inclusive, and welcoming.
2. EXPECTED STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
All RSAC-affiliated individuals shall:

Treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Engage in constructive dialogue, even in disagreement.

Represent RSAC accurately and responsibly in public and private settings.

Follow RSAC bylaws, policies, and procedures.

Act in the best interest of RSAC, not for personal gain or influence.

Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive or non-public RSAC matters.

Use RSAC platforms, events, and spaces for their intended purposes.
3. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
The following behaviors are not permitted and may result in disciplinary action:

Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind.

Abusive, threatening, or disruptive behavior, whether in person or online.

Misrepresentation of RSAC’s mission, leadership, or decisions.

Misuse of RSAC funds, resources, branding, or platforms.

Conflicts of interest that are undisclosed or unmanaged.

Public actions or statements that undermine RSAC’s credibility, leadership, or community trust.

Retaliation against any individual who raises concerns in good faith.
4. DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA CONDUCT
RSAC recognizes the role of social media and digital platforms in culture-building. Members are expected to:

Exercise care when referencing RSAC, its leaders, or initiatives online.

Avoid posting content that may harm RSAC’s reputation or community relationships.

Clearly distinguish personal opinions from official RSAC positions.

Refrain from engaging in online behavior that escalates conflict or misinformation.
5. REPORTING CONCERNS
Concerns regarding violations of this Code of Conduct may be reported confidentially to the RSAC Commission through a designated reporting channel.

Reports will be reviewed promptly and handled with discretion.

RSAC prohibits retaliation against individuals who report concerns in good faith.

All parties involved will be treated fairly during the review process.
6. DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in corrective or disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

Verbal or written warnings

Temporary suspension of membership or participation

Removal from committees or leadership roles

Termination of membership or affiliation

Additional actions deemed appropriate by the Commission
The nature of disciplinary action will be determined based on the severity and impact of the violation.
7. ACKNOWLEDGMENT & COMMITMENT
All individuals affiliated with RSAC are expected to review and adhere to this Code of Conduct. Participation in RSAC activities constitutes acknowledgment of and agreement to abide by these standards.
8. REVIEW & AMENDMENT
This Code of Conduct may be reviewed and updated periodically by the RSAC Commission to ensure alignment with organizational growth, community needs, and best practices.
